After
receiving a diploma in classical studies from the Academy of Fine
Arts
in Milan, Beppe moved to New York to attend the School of Visual Arts.
Giacobbe eventually returned to Milan, however his colors reflect
the lights
of his homeland, Sicily.
Beppe's work is regularly accepted in all the major U.S. illustration
annuals and he has earned several awards in Italy and America.
Among his full range of clients, Giacobbe is especially pleased that
United
Airlines has used many of his concepts and illustrations in their
current
campaign. In addition, Beppe is well represented in the children's
and adult
publishing industries throughout the world. His graphically strong
authors'
portraits for Rizzoli book covers have received many accolades. Beppe
loves
to illustrate children's books and currently has one for Candlewick
and two
for Hyperion on the shelves.
Aside from illustrating, Beppe enjoys teaching at the European Institute
of
Design, and making sculpture from knick-knacks and pieces of wood
he finds
along his walks. Since establishing a relationship with Morgan Gaynin
Inc.
in 1995, he enjoys frequent visits to New York.
Beppe Giacobbe will always hold dear the years he lived in America.
